Masdevallia (not yet registered)

(M. coccinea alba x M. staaliana)

Plant ID: 02563

Additional Information:

How twisted! The one on the left was the first flower to bloom from this cross and the lateral sepals seem to have done a 360. I cannot see M. coccinea in this cross, but it seems to have dominated when it comes to single blooms per inflorescence (M. staaliana is a multifloral). The size and texture is closer to that of M. staaliana but with longer caudae. The one on the right seems to have picked up some color from M. coccinea, which sometimes happens even if the alba form is used. Both of these clones produced only one flower per inflorescence, even though M. staaliana is multifloral. It will be interesting to see how others of this cross bloom.
