Masdevallia Connie Versagi

(M. Chaparana x M. coccinea alba)

Plant ID: 04343/04339/04340/04344

Additional Information: M. Chaparana is a cross between M. chaparensis and M. veitchiana which typically would have orange coloring with some spots. In this cross, M. coccinea greatly influenced the form and as is typical in other crosses with the 'Snowbird' clone, it also enhanced the color. The color that seems to be dominant, however, is perhaps the pink color of M. chaparensis or the pink that might be a recessive gene in M. coccinea alba. At any rate, this is a beautiful cross.

Connie Versagi is a very talented, dedicated and detail oriented Airedale rescue volunteer. She is seen here with her first foster, a senior Airedale named Zoe, who never left. Zoe was very special to Connie and Connie did an amazing job of getting her to trust people and enjoy life again.

I chose this cross for Connie because of its grace and color. Connie handles the pressures of rescue with grace. The color is bold as Connie's personality. She meets any rescue challenges head on and gets the job done. At the same time, the color is pink for love, which Connie's heart is full of for the dogs she helps and the special dogs she adopts. She recently adopted Max, our three-legged dog who knew he was home the moment he came into Connie's home.
