This cross was first made back in 1982 and has produced many lovely flowers that pretty typically range from golden orange to orange in color, but may vary in form between the form of each parent. Both parents have a pleasing form - so you cannot go wrong. It has upright inflorescences but nowhere near as tall as M. veitchiana.
M. Copper Angel 'Highland' is THE most awarded Copper Angel with two quality awards and five cultural awards. The cultural award scores ranged from 85 to 93, with the CCM of 93 producing 195 flowers on one plant! As you can see from above, the flowers are a little smaller than the M. Copper Angel 00950. but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in floriferousness.
