Zahleria (zah-LARE-ee-ah) was previously treated as subsection Zahlbrucknerae of Masdevallia. It is distinguished by a slender, successively flowered peduncle, long-tailed sepals connected into a tube, pointed petals with a red longitudinal callus on the lower half ending in a process directed back or downward.
